Bradley and Ashley met while he was working as a cook and she a waitress. This couple proves the age-old saying that 'the way to the heart is through the stomach' as Ashley confesses that Bradley won her over with his culinary prowess.
On a surprise visit to Tofino, Bradley and Ashley braved the weather for a rainy walk on the beach. “Half way out he knelt in the soppy sand and proposed. It was perfectly imperfect,” says Ashley.
The couple opted for an non-traditional wedding, getting hitched in an intimate ceremony in front of just their children, maid of honour and best man on a pier in North Vancouver, followed by a small reception with just eight guests. “We didn’t plan a traditional wedding, so there were no speeches, bouquet-throwing or first dance planned. At one point in the night we stepped out for a moment and when we came back our guests had cleared a spot for us to have our first dance. They played the song 'Home' by John Mayer and it just felt right," says Ashley.
