An Elegant Country Wedding in Austin, Manitoba

Lerissa and Barry met when they were teenagers attending the same high school, but it wasn’t until years later that they became a couple. “We reconnected when we found out we attended the same college,” Lerissa recalls. “Our first date was a Portage Terriers hockey game and from then on sparks flew.” Just over a year later, the two took their relationship to the next level and exchanged vows at the Gladstone Christian Fellowship Church. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds invited all 210 of their guests to an elegant country wedding reception at Austin Community Hall where a candy bar, a backdrop of drapes and twinkle lights, and a live band awaited them, along with a few personal touches courtesy of the bride’s family. “I loved the cake my sister designed and the arches my dad created,” Lerissa explains. “Barry and I loved everything about our wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.”
