For Clare and James, a wedding filled with personal touches from their family was of utmost importance. “With COVID restrictions, we were unable to have extended family whom live abroad and across Canada there with us,” Clare explains. “As part of my ‘something borrowed’, I wore my grandmother and great-grandmother’s wedding bands, along with James’ grandmother’s pearls, which were passed down. It was extremely important that we had our family that couldn’t join us on our minds. Wearing various pieces of jewelry were a comforting reminder.” In addition, the entrance of their wedding included a Ford Model A car that was James’ grandfather’s and was bought back in the 1970s, which were also included during James’ aunt and uncle’s own weddings.
With their curated guest list, Clare and James chose the Magna Golf Course to celebrate their wedding. “Not only are the facilities and grounds stunning, but the executive chef and GM are second to none,” Claire recalls. “Delicious food and wine are important to both sides of our family and it’s around the dinner table that we make the best memories, laugh the most, and feel thankful for each other–which we did!”
