A literature-themed wedding was a perfect fit for bookworms Michelle and Andrew, who became engaged on the steps of the majestic New York Public Library. “I knew I wanted a vintage library theme because I believe books are the most captivating art form,” Michelle explains. The couple spent hours collecting vintage books for centrepieces and love quotes from novels to attach to each table number. Library book cards served as a guest book, and the couple tracked down a vintage typewriter to put on display. Romantic passages from novels were read aloud during the ceremony, making it the highlight of the wedding. “My sister read a passage from my favourite novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It brought tears to our eyes, it was so overwhelmingly personal,” Michelle reminisces.
