Crystal and Eric fell in love while planning a wedding for Crystal's sister (who is also Eric's good friend). "We spent countless evenings planning that wedding and fighting over who would pay for their sushi dinner," Crystal laughs. "The rest, as you can see, is history!"
The couple exchanged vows at the vintage chapel at the Burnaby Village Museum. "It was the was the most beautiful backdrop for the ceremony," Crystal shares. "It was such a picturesque location, especially surrounded by all of our family and friends."
Crystal and Eric knew they wanted their wedding to have a geek-chic theme to blend their two personalities. "I tend to be pretty flamboyant, while Eric is much more reserved," Crystal explains. "Eric is very partial to comics and I am known for my bold jewellery." The couple's decor featured thrift store treasures and garage-sale finds, while one of their three wedding cakes included 96 Lego figurines, a Barbie bride and a tin groom reenacting the ceremony!
"Eric, who is a graphic designer, also created a special damask design for the celebration, incorporating a diamond, a robot and our initials," says Crystal. "This graphic was featured on everything, including our engagement invites, photo booth backdrop, wine bottles and thank you cards."
