For Abbey and Scott, having a rustic wedding on the bride's parents' property seemed like an obvious choice. The couple wanted to bring together Scott's love of the outdoors with Abbey's passion for antiques. The resulting celebration was a beautiful outdoor event filled with vintage touches and handmade accents. "The DIY approach was important to us," Abbey explains. "It allowed us to bring all of our ideas to life, exactly how we wanted too."
The couple got engaged on a trip to Thailand. "It was Christmas day, and we were on a beach lighting lanterns to send well wishes back to our family and friends in Canada. Scott then got down on one knee and told me he only had one wish and that was to spend the rest of his life with me," smiles Abbey.
Abbey and Scott followed their ceremony with a dinner and reception. The evening ended with fireworks, a bonfire, lots of dancing, and of course floating lanterns.
