Joseph proposed to Nancy in China on New Year’s Eve. Shortly after that momentous occasion, the two set out to plan a wedding that represented their Asian heritage. The couple’s wedding favours were custom-made in China, as was Nancy’s gorgeous tulle gown. The bride also donned a striking red cheongsam during part of the reception. Before the wedding began, Nancy and Joseph took part in a traditional tea ceremony. As part of the ceremony the groom is required to complete challenges created by the bridesmaids, like singing songs, doing push-ups or putting on bright lipstick, before he can see the bride. “After the embarrassment of singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" wore off, I was finally able to see my beautiful bride and enjoy our day together,” Joseph reminisces.
