Orlanda and James first met in their high school library and ever since the two have been inseparable. “I walked up to him, introduced myself and asked if I could sit with him," Orlanda explains. "We ended up sitting together everyday for the rest of the year.”
After nine years of dating James finally popped the question. "It was cold spring afternoon in April and we were walking our dogs along the river," says Orlanda. "We stopped at a clearing on the river bank that overlooks downtown Saskatoon and James got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!"
The couple decided on a timeless-elegance-meets-trendy theme for their celebration with a colour palette of rose and gold.
Both Orlanda and James agree that their ceremony was a stand-out part of their wedding day. "Originally we had arranged to be married in the park we took our photos in but we got cold feet and decided to move the ceremony to the gorgeous old church down the street," says Orlanda. "The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. The church was even accommodating enough to let our dog Coco be part of the ceremony," she adds.
