A Sweet, Retro Wedding in Kelowna, British Columbia

Amanda and Jeff’s retro wedding day was inspired by Mad Men-era style. From their attire to the day's décor, the couple drew inspiration from the 1950s and 60s for their vintage celebration. More than just fashionable, this couple's antique elements were also deeply personal – Amanda donned a veil and pearl crown passed down from her aunt and grandmother respectively.

One of the couple’s favourite moments of their day was driving away from the ceremony in a sleek old-fashioned convertible. “It was the only time that day Jeff and I were alone together,” says Amanda of the private moment. The pair also loved their classic details, including the retro-inspired homemade cakes and décor inspired by old-school games, such as the BINGO and Scrabble.

Family and tradition also played a big part in Amanda and Jeff’s big day – as per Swedish tradition, Amanda received a gold and silver coin from her parents, along with a special wedding blessing. There were also a lot of laughs: “One of the best moments for me was when my sisters did a rap for their speech, to ‘Ice Ice Baby’ by Vanilla Ice,” laughs Amanda.

The couple chose the timeless tune “At Last” by Etta James for their wedding song. They celebrated their honeymoon with a tour of South America, visiting Peru, Chile and Argentina.
