A Stunning Destination Wedding In Italy

High school sweethearts Janice Dewick and Davin Mortier chose one of the most romantic locales in the world to host their stunning destination wedding in Italy: The Amalfi Coast. With just 20 guests in tow, the pair -- who first met when they were 14 -- exchanged vows at the Santa Maria Maddalena Church in Atrani, a tiny fishing village on the coast. Janie, dressed in a classic A-line gown from Alfred Angelo, walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D. Her bouquet of all-white roses featured her father's ring, a sentimental touch to the destination wedding in Italy. "Just having our closest family and friends together in such a beautiful place was all we wanted," says Janie. Following the ceremony, the celebrants retreated to Gemma -- a nearby trattoria -- where the couple reserved a private terrace for the occasion. With every guest seated around the same table, the intimate reception featured "by far the best meal we’ve ever had," says Janie; the sumptuous Italian feast included smoked mozzarella grilled in lemon leaves, fried pizzetta and Parma ham plus fillet of beef “au gratin” in a crust of herbs with mixed vegetables and fresh tomatoes. In lieu of traditional wedding cake, Janie and Davin served their guests tiramisu, a sweet finale to this destination wedding in Italy.
