Elegant simplicity was the inspiration for Emily and Diego’s minimalist spring wedding. “Our philosophy was ‘less is more’, which applied to everything but the guest list,” Emily shares. “Being surrounded by that many people who truly only want the best for you both is the best feeling we’ve ever experienced.” After the ceremony at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, the newlyweds went to the Corktown Footbridge where Diego had proposed a year earlier. “We placed an engraved lock on the bridge in order to commemorate our engagement and wedding,” Emily explains. “We threw the keys into the Rideau Canal together before heading off to our reception at the Canadian Museum of Nature.” Days after their wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed a blissful honeymoon in South Beach, Florida.
