A Shabby-Chic Wedding in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Saskatoon couple Pennie and Wayne opted for a shabby-chic theme for their big day. They selected a soft palette of tan, ivory, gold and various pastels, and brought their vision to life with help from the professionals at Bliss Wedding Design and various crafters on Etsy. The bride's gorgeous brooch bouquet, the cake topper, the bridesmaids' fabric bouquets and all of the boutonnieres were purchased from the online crafting site.

Pennie and Wayne held their ceremony in a lush garden filled with flowers and greenery. The bride and groom, who had both lost their mothers, decided to have ‘reserved for’ signs on two chairs lining the aisle for their deceased parents. They also had a lovely tribute during the ceremony, releasing two giant balloons into the sky in memory.

After the intimate ceremony, guests enjoyed a nearby lemonade stand. A string trio played while guests sipped champagne and snacked on gourmet appetizers. Guests were then treated to a candlelit reception filled with vintage accents and DIY details.

“Looking back on my wedding day, I have to say it was the perfect start to my marriage with Wayne," says Pennie. "I'm still receiving compliments from my guests."
