A Rustic Vintage Wedding In Edmonton, Alberta

Influenced by their Polish heritage and love for vintage, Jennifer and Thomas set out to plan a rustic vintage wedding filled with cultural details and DIY accents. “Our menu consisted of lots of vodka, kotlety (similar to schnitzel) and perogies,” Jennifer recalls. “We even tore pages out of an old Polish book and transformed them into favour bags for our candy bar.” The two exchanged “I dos” at St. Joachim Church, followed by a rustic vintage wedding celebration at The Country Lodge. Upon entering the reception, guests found themselves surrounded by an array of rustic vintage wedding decorations from wooden wedding signs and chalkboard table numbers to basil and thyme plants placed in yellow vases. All details aside, it was the first dance song that made the day even more memorable for the newlyweds. “We asked everyone to light a sparkler to help us light the dance floor during the dance,” Jennifer smiles. “At the end of the dance Thomas picked me up and we just started twirling—it was amazing.”
