A Rustic Nature-Inspired Wedding In Alberta

April always envisioned an outdoor, fall ceremony in the trees for her wedding with Edward. The couple found their dream venue at the Gladstone Mountain Ranch. "It provided an amazing ceremony, reception and photo spot," April says. "We were able to have the rustic wedding we wanted, but it also felt private and intimate in such a beautiful location."

For their wedding theme, the couple tried to incorporate their personalities and interests into everything, from the decor to the music. "We both love reading and literature so that became a predominant theme," April explains. "We integrated books into everything from the invitations to the bridesmaids’ bouquets." Even the cake-cutting was literary-themed, as April and Edward used replicas of The Lord of the Rings swords to slice their wedding dessert.

"Because our guest list was small, our dinner reception felt like a casual gathering of friends and family," April smiles. "It was amazing to enjoy our day with them in such beautiful and calm surroundings." The couple ended the night's festivities with a bonfire where guests enjoyed s’mores and cocktails under the night sky.
