Erin Alviano and Jason Murray wanted something extraordinary for their August wedding, so they decided to host the entire celebration in a barn: the Baker Barn, to be exact, a treasure of worn wood and stone nestled in the Ontario countryside. With a chartreuse colour palette to mirror the vibrant green country setting, Erin and Jason packed their rustic glam farm wedding with personal details. Guests were directed around the property with hand-painted wooden signs, ultimately congregating at the rear of the barn, where two elongated mirrors were cleverly propped to imitate a door. Erin -- resplendent in a formal ballgown which playfully juxtaposed the rustic surroundings -- was preceded down the aisle by her intimate bridal party, including the groom's two nephews who carried a humourous sign reading "Last chance to run". The pair exchanged vows under a wrought-iron arbor complete with billowing fabric. Pretty green and white blooms adorned the ceremony space, unobtrusively perched from shepherd's hooks.
The rustic glam farm wedding continued inside the barn, its large exposed beams wrapped in twinkle lights. A mixture of round and rectangular tables were spotted with eclectic bright green centrepieces, miniature lanterns and wooden table numbers, where guests were directed by a window pane escort display. Erin and Jason also created custom "He" and "She" posters, each containing a list of habits and traits they love about each other. An old-timey favour wagon added further charm to the rustic glam farm wedding, where guests enjoyed a DJ and cocktails served in mason jars with stylish black striped soda straws. In lieu of a traditional guestbook, Erin and Jason opted for a whimsical wine barrel which their family and friends signed in permanent marker. "It turned out amazing; we will add a glass table top to it and have it in our home," says Erin.
Guests departed the rustic glam farm wedding with customized beer koozies, topping off the abundance of personalization and charm.
