A Rustic, DIY Wedding in McKellar, Ontario
When Katelyn and Holt couldn’t find the reception venue of their dreams they started to look at more unconventional places. Eventually, they found their ideal location in Katelyn’s parents’ driveway! “I ended up convincing my parents to let us have it there,” Katelyn shares. “I think it blew everyone away—their driveway has never looked so nice.” To match their rustic ambiance, Katelyn and Holt decided on a vintage outdoorsy motif complete with s’mores, a bonfire and good old homemade cooking. “My mom made all the food, and she had a few ladies to help her organize,” Katelyn explains. With 80 guests in attendance, the pair put together an enjoyable evening that ended with dancing and sparklers. “The night was so fun, it felt like a huge gathering with all our friends and family—just as we planned,” the two conclude.
