Rod found the perfect moment for his proposal while he and Blaire were on vacation. During a scenic ferry ride from Vancouver Island to Anacortes, Washington, Rod brought Blaire up to the front of the ferry and, with a a dazzling view surrounding them, he asked Blaire to marry him. The captain of the ferry had witnessed the entire proposal unfold and honked the horn in celebration, announcing to everyone on board about the couple's engagement!
For their mid-September wedding, Blaire and Rod planned a rustic celebration accented with DIY elements. Centrepieces comprised of wildflowers and wood topped reception tables and a handmade seating chart directed guests to their seats. There was also no shortage of sweets at this celebration. The couple treated guests to a sweet table full of classic candy and treats and, instead of a cake, the couple's dessert table featured a unique tiered cake pop confection.
