Tuyen had a feeling Matthew would propose on their vacation to Hawaii—but when he led her to a private garden on the beach with a five-course meal, she was still incredibly surprised. The final course, a dessert with “Will you marry me?” written in chocolate, sealed the deal. After the perfect proposal Tuyen began plotting the glamorous pink wedding she had pictured since she was young. “I had actually pretty much planned my wedding before getting married—and even before meeting my husband,” she confesses. “It was something I had always dreamed about.” She made her wedding wishes come true with a tribute to their cultures, a stunning white and pink wedding cake adorned with flowers, and plenty of entertainment for their 320 guests, including a Japanese drummer and lion dancers. Tuyen and her bridesmaids even performed a song, “Oh, What a Night,” that summed up the occasion perfectly.
