Garrett proposed to Ashley after a Winnipeg Jets game, and she recalls feeling his heart pounding as he pulled her in for a hug. “We had talked about getting married, but I had no idea it was coming so soon,” Ashley shares. After an ecstatic “yes!” the couple soon decided on an autumn celebration full of creative, personalized details. Ashley is a florist, so the bouquets and arrangements took centre stage. “The flowers were shades of peach and natural green, and we added burlap, lace and birchbark touches plus lots of candlelight,” she explains. Other memorable elements included handmade favours, personal questions for the guests, chalkboard paints and a seating chart made out of an old door. “Everything looked beautiful, light and romantic with that perfect rustic touch,” Ashley concludes.
