Lindsay first met Craig after stopping by a friend’s workplace to meet for lunch. Her friend had mentioned one of the owners had 'red hair and crazy blue eyes' and he happened to be speaking with her friend when Lindsay arrived. “My friend introduced us and as he walked away I said to her, 'He does have amazing eyes' which prompted her to yell across the showroom, ‘Craig, Lindsay thinks you're hot!” laughs Lindsay. Several years later Lindsay was hired by an accounting firm and Craig's business just happened to be a client of that firm. Lindsay ended up working on-site at Craig’s place of employment part-time and the two began to spend more time with one another then one day made plans to hang out, just the two of them, outside of work. “I realized I had feelings for him and when we met I did something I had never ever done in my life -- I ‘made the first move.’ After a brief ‘hi, how are you,’ I leaned in and kissed him...as they say the rest is history!” says Lindsay.
While enjoying a weekend away to Seattle to see a Mariners game, Lindsay had no idea what Craig had in store. “During the break between the 5th and 6th innings the announcer said something about looking at the score board for some important messages. Craig nudged me and pointed to the scoreboard, which said ‘Lindsay I love you, will you marry me?’ When I turned he was on one knee in the aisle beside me with a ring, shaking, and he nervously asked me to marry him. I was shocked!” says Lindsay.
Just as their love for baseball played a part in their proposal, the game also influenced their big day, which included Lindsay sporting a LA Dodgers garter.
The couple's wedding ceremony was held at Rosedale Garden and featured a pastel colour palate and tons of gorgeous floral accents. Lindsay and Craig chose the song “Home” by Phillip Phillips for their first dance, as the two had gotten into watching American Idol together. “I have moved a tremendous amount in my life so the word ‘home’ is not one I use flippantly. Craig was offering me a life with him and promised to help me find home. It seemed a perfect choice,” shared Lindsay.
Craig and Lindsay capped off their celebrations with a relaxing honeymoon in the Bahamas.
