Kerstyn and Cody wanted to make sure their wedding reflected their easy-going personalities. To achieve the rustic-romantic feel they were after for their big day, the pair planned their party at UBC Boathouse, a waterside venue with tons of natural light. "What a place! Takes your breath away," says Kerstyn. "The scenery is breathtaking, and if you are lucky, you may even get a plane or two overhead. I also loved that it was a blank slate and we could do whatever we wanted to it to make it reflect us as a couple."
The couple decided on a delicate colour palette of soft pink, purple and tan. "I gave each bridesmaid a different coloured paint chip and asked them to choose their own dresses," Kerstyn explains. "I really wanted them to choose a dress that they would wear again."
Kerstyn says the decor at her celebration was among her favourite wedding details. "From the ladders and the Love sign to the Kal Baterski scripture and the centrepieces, everything just worked. There so many little specific details that made the whole venue come together," she remembers.
While the decor was a highlight, Kerstyn says nothing could compare to seeing Cody for the first time as she walked down the aisle. "What a feeling to know you get to spend forever with your favourite person," she adds.
