Celebrations don't get much more romantic than this Saskatchewan wedding. "I always knew I wanted to have a chic outdoor wedding," the bride, Bailey Schappert, explains. "Regina's Wascana Park--with its stunning view of the lake--was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception." With 120 guests in attendance, Bailey and husband Blair Kulcsar hosted a rustic yet elegant celebration. This Saskatchewan wedding began with a ceremony at Trafalgar Fountain in Wascana Park, where 24,000 white rose petals were scattered across the aisle. Early on, Bailey decided to create an extremely long aisle to to enhance the feeling of anticipation as she walked towards her future husband. "It took me a while to see Blair, but it was worth it to take that long walk and see all my friends and family--it was a surreal moment," Bailey explains. For Blair, the feeling was mutual, "My favourite part of the wedding was experiencing the true emotion of love while watching Bailey walk down the aisle," he explains. "Leaving the ceremony with my wife, as all of our loved ones tossed rose petals, was also unreal."
Following their vows, the newlyweds unveiled a beautifully decorated, chic outdoor wedding reception to their guests. White Chiavari chairs were paired with tables covered in white linens, white paper lanterns were scattered throughout the tent, and potted azalea trees added to this Saskatchewan wedding’s natural feel. “It was cool to see all my ideas executed when I walked into the tent,” Bailey recalls.
“I wanted to set everything up by myself, but the co-ordinators did an amazing job, and it was such a special surprise to see it all come together.” Once seated, guests were treated to local and organic fare, a must-have detail for Bailey's chic Saskatchewan wedding. “I enjoyed the creative planning a lot, but I also wanted to incorporate memorable details, such as a good and healthy meal, which truly reflected our organic lifestyle.”
“Everything about our wedding day, from beginning to end, was perfect. We had beautiful weather—even though there was a crazy storm the night before our wedding,” Bailey laughs. “I could not have asked for a more perfect day to marry Blair.”
