As soon as Erin spotted Chris's bright blue eyes at a mutual friend's dinner party six years ago, she knew there would be no going back. Chris and Erin spent the entire night talking, absorbed in getting to know one another, and have been together ever since. "It was love at first sight," Erin remembers.
The pair kept their wedding decor as simple and effortless as their relationship, opting for natural wildflowers and other no-fuss details like Mason jars and adorable googly-eyed cupcakes for dessert. Their venue, the Inn at the Falls, was equally rustic, with a spacious wooden deck on the banks of the Muskoka River and plenty of green space for photo ops. "Finding the location was easy, as it was one of the first places Chris and I visited when we started dating," Erin explains.
One of Erin's favourite details of the day was her unique wedding outfit – it consisted of a top and a skirt from the 2014 Honor runway show, which her friend, Leith, the style director at large for Harper's Bazaar UK, helped her pick out. "She was an absolute godsend. I wouldn't have been able to get such an amazing outfit without her help," she says.
Post-ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and sentimental slide show. "My mom and BFF, Tara, created a hilarious slide show of Chris and me and all our looks over the years – me as a buzzed-hair goth and Chris as a long-haired hippie," Erin laughs.
To top off the night, a surprise order of McDonald's cheeseburgers and fries was dropped off at the venue in a cab. "It was a massive hit," says Erin.
