Rebecca and Tyler's engagement took place during a canoe trip on the Glenmore Reservoir, complete with a picnic lunch. "After lunch, Ty pulled out the ring, which was attached to a fishing bobber," Rebecca recalls.
For their summer wedding, the couple decided on a lush outdoor ceremony and reception in Calgary. Their day included many DIY and non-traditional elements such as Rebecca's veil, which was bought at Michaels craft store and decorated by Tyler's mom, Judy. The bridal party's jewellery and accessories were all purchased from Etsy. Rebecca's favourite detail was the tulle from her great-grandmother's dress being tied to her bouquet.
Both Rebecca and Tyler agree that their favourite moment of the day was saying "I do!" For their wedding song, they also went an unconventional route by choosing a song, "I Don't Mind" by a hardcore band called Defeater. "Tyler's in a hardcore band called The Fallacy, and this band happened to do a super cute love song!" says Rebecca.
