Jennifer and Samuel met while completing their masters degrees at McGill University in Montreal. "Our first date was at an arcade and it was so much fun," Jennifer smiles. "I don't think I stopped laughing all night."
The couple envisioned their special day to be a modern take on a classic wedding. They decided on black and white, accented with green details. "I wanted a fresh, spring colour for our May wedding, but I didn't want to overpower the room with green," Jennifer explains.
Jennifer loved her Maggie Sottero lace gown, one of her favourite details from their wedding. "When I went dress shopping, I actually found my dress in the first store that we went to. At the third store, I tried it on again not knowing it was the same dress," she recalls. "So it was meant to be!" The bride changed into three different pairs of shoes for her wedding, including a pair of custom green converse. "I was so happy when I got them, and they were so unexpected with my dress, people loved them," Jennifer shares.
For her dance with her father, Jennifer wanted do something fun and not too sentimental. They ended up doing a semi-choreographed dance to Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl". "It was a total surprise for our guests," Jennifer laughs. "My dad can sometimes be a little quiet, so people were not expecting it at all. And he really got into it, which was awesome!"
