A mutual friend had tried to introduce Kyla and Bob for years, but it wasn’t until a group trip to Cuba that the two bonded over a simple game of checkers. Three years later, the couple was engaged, and they set out to plan a lovely DIY-themed celebration. Together with their family members, the pair adorned their wedding with sentimental and homemade details. “The design of our invitations was inspired by my grandparents’ wedding invitations from 1941,” Kyla explains. In honour of Mother’s Day, every mother who attended the wedding received a single rose on her place setting. To celebrate where they first met, Kyla and Bob are planning to honeymoon on a tropical island!
