After 10 years together, Carynne and Brian tied the knot at the Paul Hardy Studio in Calgary, Alberta. "The place is beautiful and we felt incredibly lucky to have our ceremony there, especially after finding out they no longer take bookings for events," Carynne shares.
The couple didn’t have a set theme for their wedding day, but instead let their two venues dictate the colour and decor. They eventually settled on a palette of grey, pink and gold. "Both of our event spaces had beautifully appointed interiors and we wanted to highlight them, not make the decor too fussy," Carynne recalls.
Carynne planned the wedding herself and loved seeing the vision that had been dancing in her head for a year come to life. Her favourite DIY details were the oversized gold and black paper mache initials she made, as well as the moss ampersand. "Seeing our ceremony space set up was incredible! It put a huge smile on my face," Carynne says.
The couple agrees that the culinary details were another highlight of their celebration. "The great thing about having a wedding at a restaurant is the quality of food!" Carynne reveals. "I’ve heard stories of many brides who don’t eat on their wedding day because they don’t have time, but I made a point of enjoying everything on our menu."
