Sarah and Matthew didn’t begin dating until their last year at Halifax’s Dalhousie University. Luckily for them Matthew was offered a job in Toronto, so he left his hometown to move to Toronto with Sarah, where they later tied the knot with a stunning white and navy blue wedding celebration. When wedding plans began, the two instantly knew they wanted their celebration to incorporate things meaningful to them. “I loved spending time looking at different ideas, making it completely us and putting personal touches on everything,” Sarah confesses. Their favours—instant coffee and chocolate-covered espresso beans from Starbucks—represented their weekend coffee outings; the macarons and croquembouche were from their neighbourhood bakery; and their music list represented their dating memories. “One of our wedding songs was ‘Good Life’ by OneRepublic,” Sarah recalls. “When my alarm went off on the morning of the wedding that song started playing and I got a little teary-eyed.”
