A Lovely Blue Wedding in Ottawa, Ontario

Sparks flew when Melanie and Kevin first met at a coed ball hockey game. However, the pair played on the same team for several seasons before Kevin finally asked her out on a date. Three years later he proposed during a romantic walk (with their beloved Boston Terrier Willy) through Ottawa’s Patterson Creek. “It was pretty easy for me,” Kevin jokes. “Melanie said ‘yes’ before I managed to get three words out!” For their intimate wedding at Strathmere, the duo settled on a royal blue colour scheme (the groom’s favourite), and Melanie set about making everything from the stationery to the jewellery by hand. “I’m glad I decided to take the DIY route,” Melanie says. “Those details really made our day unique.”
