From the very start of planning their big day, neither Tang nor Rylan had a specific vision. The only thing Tang knew for sure was that she wanted to be married outside in the sunshine.
When the day finally arrived, the weather was nothing short of perfection. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Drake Devonshire, which flawlessly complemented the personalities of both the bride and groom. "It's a little outdoorsy yet modern and well-designed," says Tang.
Tang amazed guests when she made her grand entrance in a stunning non-traditional wedding dress. "The red dress was a real hit and surprise for everyone because I didn't tell anyone I would be wearing red," Tang says. She was accompanied by both her mother and father as she walked down the aisle towards the lakefront altar where Rylan was waiting.
Following the ceremony guests enjoyed a unique foodie experience. "We didn’t want a banquet-style dinner so the Drake Devonshire’s strolling dinner was perfect for us," Tang explains. "Everyone loved the food. We started with a lovely fruit, cheese and bread platter and then moved into passed appetizers that were amazing. We also chose to have a taco station and then ended with a 'bake sale' platter and a small chocolate cake."
The laid-back theme of the wedding was reflected in the couple's choice to not have a traditional first dance, a dance floor, or even speeches. "We decided to go with the flow and have a very relaxed reception where everyone could just chat, eat and enjoy the moment," says Tang.
