Michelle and Drew have a super-sweet love story that precedes their homey DIY wedding. They met in grade 10 at Langley Christian School and shared a circle of friends, but they didn’t start hanging out until after graduation. “We started dating when I moved to Kelowna for university and then it was a long-distance romance for two years until I transferred schools to be closer to Drew,” Michelle smiles. On their four-year anniversary, Drew proposed to Michelle at one of his favourite places—his grandfather’s cabin in Green Lake Provincial Park. The two then started planning a homey DIY wedding celebration for their 160 guests. “I wanted people to feel like they were at our house for the evening,” Michelle says. When asked about her favourite homey DIY wedding details, the bride says there were too many to choose just one. “I loved everything from our dessert bar and our DIY decorated jars to my feathery headpiece!”
