A Homey DIY Wedding in Fort Langley, British Columbia

Jan 09, 2013  |   By Alison McGill

Michelle and Drew have a super-sweet love story that precedes their homey DIY wedding. They met in grade 10 at Langley Christian School and shared a circle of friends, but they didn’t start hanging out until after graduation. “We started dating when I moved to Kelowna for university and then it was a long-distance romance for two years until I transferred schools to be closer to Drew,” Michelle smiles. On their four-year anniversary, Drew proposed to Michelle at one of his favourite places—his grandfather’s cabin in Green Lake Provincial Park. The two then started planning a homey DIY wedding celebration for their 160 guests. “I wanted people to feel like they were at our house for the evening,” Michelle says. When asked about her favourite homey DIY wedding details, the bride says there were too many to choose just one. “I loved everything from our dessert bar and our DIY decorated jars to my feathery headpiece!”Michelle DeBoersap and Drew Lescisin, May 11, 2012, Fort Langley, British Columbia Photography courtesy of Teryn Lee (www.terynleephotography.com) Vendors Ceremony location: Living Waters Church Reception location: Fort Langley Community Hall (604-888-1223) Dress: Ivory Bridal Groom’s tux: Tip Top Tailors Bridal party attire: Bridesmaids selected their own dresses in blue from various local stores Hair: Shelly Baxter Makeup: Shelly Baxter Music: Joe Milancovic ([email protected]) Caterer: Walter Togeretz Flowers: Flowers & Company Stationery: MixbookSee all the photos from this homey DIY wedding in Fort Langley, British Columbia.
