Fate brought Marie and Todd together when they were placed on the same floor in residence at Queen's University. The pair were inseparable since their first date, which was bowling followed by dinner. Todd recreated this first date the night he proposed. "After bowling, we went home to change for dinner and he had sneaked in earlier to lay out rose petals and set up a webcam to film the proposal," explains Marie. "It was very intimate and perfect."
Their wedding day was filled with laughter, dancing and great food in Toronto's Distillery District. Queen's alumni flooded the dance floor to perform one of the school's cheers, the "Oil Thigh." As wild and fun as the reception was, Todd says his favourite moment of the night was when he was able to sneak away from the party for a couple of minutes with Marie to sit down and let their newly-married status sink in.
