A laid-back and casual wedding to match their personalities was just what Shannon and Waylon wanted. They knew Waylon’s parents’ property outside of Winnipeg would be an ideal location. "Guests were able to pitch tents or set up campers around the yard to spend the night," Shannon explains. "Having the wedding on family property made it feel that much more personal and enjoyable."
One of the highlights of the day was the moment Shannon saw Waylon for the first time. "I remember turning the corner towards the ceremony and seeing his face," Shannon smiles. "It was a moment I will never forget!"
The photo session ended up being one of the couple's favourite moments of the day. "Not once during our pictures did I feel overwhelmed with being asked to pose unnaturally," Shannon explains. "The whole experience was very organic."
Being able to celebrate their special day surrounded by their loved ones also meant a lot to Shannon and Waylon. "We ended the night with a firework display and dancing under the stars until the sun came up," Shannon remembers.
