A Fun, Elegant Wedding in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Deciding where to say “I do” was easy for Jordan and Jeffrey—they chose the Fort Garry United Church where both their sets of parents were married more than 25 years before. Needless to say, the couple’s ceremony was especially meaningful. “We felt this part of the day was our moment,” Jordan reflects. “Jeff and I were only looking at each other, and it was as if we were the only ones in the church.” After exchanging vows, it was time to get the party started, but Jeffrey had no idea exactly what was in store. “He didn’t realize I had some surprises up my sleeve,” Jordan jokes. Unbeknownst to Jeffrey, Jordan snuck away to switch her dress before serenading him with a rendition of “Sea of Love” by Cat Power. “Every Wednesday for two months I practiced with my cousins to perfect my version of the song,” Jordan explains. “I wish I had a picture of the look on Jeff’s face when I was called up to the microphone!”
