Ben and Sharai met while attending school in Schaldming, Austria, which is a ski village nestled at the foot of The Alps. After school wrapped up, Sharai returned to Calgary while Ben moved back to Toronto. The couple decided to keep their relationship going to spite the distance between them. "Even though the distance was tough, we always knew our lives would be missing something if we weren’t together," shares Sharai. Six years after their initial encounter in Europe, Ben popped the question.
For their wedding day, the couple decided to honour Sharai's Albertan roots by hosting their celebration in Banff. The couple opted for a French vintage-inspired celebration filled with soft hues and antique details. Sharai says some of her favourite wedding elements were the antique silver trays and candle sticks she had collected over the years, which were worked into her centrepieces.
"We fully enjoyed our day and we were really glad we were able to pause a few times to take it all in," says Sharai. ""It was a 28-degree day in the Rocky Mountains in September, which was amazing in itself,"
