Rustic elegance was the wedding theme Tanis and Quinton embraced for their summer wedding and their incredible celebration was absolutely picture perfect.
“We were married at a barn wedding venue in Pemberton, BC which was situated in a meadow overlooking the Pemberton Mountains,” Tanis shares. “We really wanted the feel of a West Coast wedding and wanted everything to have a fresh and timeless look so chose white as our main colour. Everything looked so elegant and romantic as our whole wedding was blanketed in white flowers and eucalyptus, accented by tons of white candles.”
The couple’s 130 guests enjoyed a gorgeous day outdoors beginning with a ceremony set against the mountains. “Quinton actually built our wooden wedding arbour and it was one of our favourite details,” Tanis says. “It was decorated with the most beautiful flowers arrangement I have ever seen! I absolutely loved all our floral arrangements. We had long family style tables set up for our reception and the runners featured fresh eucalyptus which ran the length of the tables. For the center pieces, we filled glass bottles with water and put a a stem of eucalyptus inside of each one and finished off the look with a long white candle. We also had vases with floating candles as well as vases filled with bouquets of white roses, white hydrangeas and various other white wildflowers. It made the reception so romantic and elegant.”
From the couple’s first look to their personalized vows, Tanis says the day was pretty much perfect. They had an extra-special moment during their reception where they stole away for a moment together to just be. “After dinner and speeches at our reception, we took a moment to step away from our guests. It was around dusk and the sun was perfectly setting over the mountains and we snuck away and sat alone under our arbour in the meadow. We were able to talk just the two of us and reflect on everything that had happened that day and how special it was to us.”
