Carolyn met Martin in 2005 while living in London with her cousin, Jesse. The couple came together one night when Carolyn was throwing a birthday party for her cousin. She immediately clicked with Martin as soon as he showed up at the door.
DIY elements played a big part in the couple’s garden party wedding. Centrepieces were created using vintage bottles collected by Carolyn, her sister and her mother. The bride also bought vintage floral fabric and made all of the napkins herself. The window pane used for the seating plan was sourced from an old cabin on Carolyn’s grandparents’ property (where the ceremony and reception were held) and the cake stands were logs cut from the woods behind her parents’ house. “It was the combination of all the little details and personal touches that made it all come together so beautifully,” Carolyn explains.
