The theme for Joscelyne and Josh's wedding was rustic bohemian meets modern elegance, a style that took cues from vintage and hand crafted decor. Brass candlesticks that Joscelyne and her mother had been collecting lay scattered amongst greenery, geometric lanterns and vases; tall, large floral centrepieces and grey gauze runners brought the entire theme together.
Joscelyne's years of planning, pinning, and crafting played out to create her dream wedding atmosphere, with most of the décor hand-made by the bride herself. "I love to design, do crafts, sew and undertake anything artsy," Joscelyne says. "I took up the task of creating almost everything myself—right down to sewing the drapes, making the groomsmen’s bow ties, bridesmaids’ bouquets, designing the centrepieces… and the list goes on."
The personal touches continued with Joscelyne's wedding dress, which required some alterations before becoming her perfect gown. "I tried on over 40 dresses in all the different cities in New Brunswick, and still could not find the ONE," she recalls. "I fell in love with a strapless dress, but I wanted sleeves. Eventually I found an amazing seamstress who created the sleeves for me, and I ended up with the dress of my dreams!"
For the couple, the most memorable moments from their big day were when they were first announced as husband and wife, and their church exit to their favourite song, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers. "I would also have to say that the time taking photos during the day was so important," Joscelyne shares. "Spending time as a family with our little girl on the beach taking photos was so special."
