A Simple Vintage Wedding in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario - Bride and Groom

April and MacKenzie fell in love as camp counsellors in Spain and got engaged on a trip to New York City but they two decided to return home to celebrate their wedding day.

The couple invited 260 of their closest family members and friends to celebrate at April's family cottage on Lake Superior. "We wanted to highlight Northern Ontario's beauty and the natural romance of Lake Superior as a reflection of the two of us, and create an event that would be as magical and memorable for our guests as it was for us," April recalls.

Getting ready for the big day was a family affair, with the couple's family staying at the cottage the night before. The groom's father cooked breakfast, while the bride's mother and sister helped her get ready. "Every time I glanced out of the kitchen windows, I saw my dad standing on the altar, gazing out at the water," April reminisces. "He stayed out there for most of the morning."
