After a Christmas engagement, Lydia and Nathan celebrated a contemporary spring wedding in Kelowna, British Columbia. The pair, who met at UBC Vancouver, exchanged vows in front of 100 guests at St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church before participating in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. The contemporary spring wedding celebration continued at the Harvest Golf Club, where a red and gold Chinese "double happiness" symbol was prominently displayed above the festivities. Cheery colours like yellow and pink were reflected in the centrepieces. Customary in Chinese weddings, Lydia changed into a second red silk dress (red is considered a lucky colour). The happy couple cut a pink-trimmed wedding cake adorned in orchids, concluding the contemporary spring wedding.
