A Contemporary Harvest Wedding In Toronto, Ontario

Melissa and Garnet's love story all started in a coffee shop. A mutual friend came to town and had limited time, so she invited all of her friends to go for coffee together. Melissa sat at one end of the table while Garnet was on the other end. "We soon realized we had a shared love of ping pong," explains Melissa. "He said if I ever wanted to spar I should give him a call. The rest is history.

The couple scheduled their wedding just after Thanksgiving, so a colour palette of oranges and reds seemed only fitting for this fall celebration. The ceremony and reception were both held at The Burroughs Building, which provided a warm yet contemporary backdrop.

When it came to decor, the couple married their love of traditional Thanksgiving motifs with a modern, urban sensibility. Clustered squash and vibrant sunflowers juxtaposed with oversize balloons and the venue's exposed brick walls created just the look the couple was after.

Of the many memories made that day, Melissa picks out walking down the aisle and dancing with her guests as some of her favourite. "One of the best things was being able to play ping pong at our wedding, since it was one of the things that brought us together!" exclaims Melissa.
