A Chic Wedding With Personalized Details

"Dan literally showed up on my doorstep!" exclaims Chrystine. A mutual friend brought him along to a games night she was hosting and made the following introduction: “Dan, this is my single friend Chrystine. Chrystine, this is my single friend Dan.” Dan made the next move asking Chrystine out through Facebook and the pair now laugh at how their first date was a three-hour coffee chat at Starbucks, even though neither of them like coffee.

Chrystine spent a lot of time perfecting the details for her chic purple and green wedding celebration. Bridesmaids were dressed in elegant purple gowns and carried green bouquets accented with roses and orchids. The wedding ceremony took place in the bride's aunt's backyard where aisles were hung with lush green pomanders.

With fond memories of travelling with her family to Barbados growing up, Chrystine hired a steel drum band to play during cocktails and managed to keep it a secret. "Everyone was so surprised! My mom started telling people they were at the wrong wedding!" Chrystine jokes. The couple also added a personal touch to their stationery, such as cocktail napkins featuring fun facts about their relationship.

The couple say their most memorable moment was entering their luxurious purple and green wedding reception hall at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. "It was so great to see all of our family and friends waiting for us and to see how beautiful the room looked with all the flowers and decor," Chrystine says, "It was the wedding of my dreams."
