A Chic Modern Wedding in Vancouver, British Columbia

After the Vancouver Canucks won game five of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Lauren and Ben returned home from watching the game at a friend’s house. Ben urged Lauren to stay up a little later than usual with him and listen to the sounds of the celebrating city on their deck. While Ben was inside grabbing a blanket, Lauren accidentally burnt her finger while trying to light candles so she didn't immediately notice when Ben returned, ring in hand on bended knee. When she finally realized it what was happening, she was elated and accepted -- at that moment the couple says it felt like the entire city was celebrating with them.

For their chic modern wedding day, Lauren and Ben wanted to create a memorable experience for their guests, and for them that meant having an amazing spread of food. The couple held their ceremony and reception at Vancouver’s Brix Restaurant where guests were treated to a three-course meal, appetizers, a dessert buffet, late night snacks and amazing beverages such as old-fashioned soda, wine and signature cocktails.

The couple chose to honeymoon in San Francisco seeing as both of their parents had spent their honeymoons in the city. Both sets of parents celebrated their 40^th anniversaries in 2012 so Lauren and Ben figured San Francisco must be a lucky destination for long-lasting marriages!
