Heather and Raymond’s dream day was uniquely theirs—an elegant vintage-inspired celebration with Scottish and Mennonite elements. “Everything in the wedding revolved around history of some kind,” Heather explains. For instance, a highland dance performance paid homage to the bride’s Scottish roots while the couple’s choice of reception venue, the Mennonite Heritage Village Museum, gave a nod to the groom’s side of the family. Tying everything together were crafty elements in a pleasing palette of plum, sage and ivory. “In Manitoba, March still means plenty of snow with a glimpse of spring. I felt these colours reflected the season well,” Heather concludes.
