A Charming Rustic Wedding in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Lauren and Patrick met on their first day of medical school – Patrick was the first person to speak to Lauren that day, and the connection was instant. Their engagement came after a camping trip in eastern Quebec, while relaxing on their apartment balcony. Patrick surprised Lauren with a proposal and bottle of champagne. Lauren loved the rose gold garnet ring Patrick picked out himself – even if it was five sizes too big!

For their charming rustic wedding in June, the couple chose Fort Gibraltar in Winnipeg, Lauren’s hometown. The historic location lent an eclectic atmosphere to the day – some memorable moments included a musket salute, axe throwing and a campfire. Even with all of the fun, the couple did find time to savour the simple, yet poignant, moments of their celebration. “The best moment was walking down the aisle with Patrick after the ceremony and seeing all our friends and family there,” says Lauren.
