A Charming Garden Party Wedding in Theodore, Saskatchewan

“We both worked at Camp Whitesand,” James shares. “One day while I was taking pictures of some kids at the high ropes course, in walked my wife. At the time, I couldn’t have known she would become my wife, but even then, I was sure that this was no longer an ordinary day”.

Chiara vividly recalls her engagement to James one mid-morning; “I received texts from James with clues that sent me on a hunt to find him”. When both met at the Harte Trail, a path they frequented, Chiara was presented with a book entitled “The Story of Us”. In that story, was a picture of the two of them that said, “cue proposal.”

The couple reignited fond memories through their wedding venue, the same camp they first met at, where a palette of neutrals – blush, taupe, nude and cream – complemented the natural, green setting. In fact, their “first look” took place exactly where they first met, five years before, at a high ropes challenge course. “We wanted the weekend to be very family-oriented,” said Chiara, “so instead of dancing, we opted for picnic games like croquet and sack races.” Picnic tables, buntings and lemonade enhanced the laid-back spirit of the wedding. One of Chiara’s favourite details were personalized activity books and goodie bags made by her bridesmaid, Amy. “The book included a wedding maze that had kids ‘help James get to the bride' and a colouring page of James and I”, Chiara gushes. “The weekend ended up being our dream wedding at our favourite place with our favourite people”, Chiara concludes. “James stole my heart, so I stole his last name.”
