A Candlelit Fall Wedding In Calgary, Alberta

At Jennifer and Domenic's wedding, the ambiance was very important. "We knew we wanted an evening ceremony flled with the soft romantic glow of candles," Jennifer explains. Over 100 candles were used at the couple's wedding, which lined the aisles, surrounded the fireplace where the ceremony took place, and created a glowing backdrop behind their sweetheart table.

Jennifer walked down the aisle as an opera singer performed. "The sun was setting over the lake," Jennifer recalls. "It was just as we had imagined it."

The couple chose to do a first look before the ceremony, only instead of the bride approaching the groom, Domenic was the one approaching Jennifer. "I remember standing in the sun, gazing out at the lake and waiting for Dom for our first look," Jennifer smiles. "When I turned around and saw him coming toward me, I’m sure I was just beaming with happiness and excitement."

One of Jennifer's favourite details of the reception were the table numbers. Antler chandeliers hanging in the main dining area inspired the couple to add some rustic charm to their tables. "We made the table number holders using plastic deer, gold spray paint and wood slices," Jennifer says. "The deer also complemented the leafy floral table runners."

Jennifer remembers looking around the room at dinner and seeing that their vision for the day had come true, a feeling she can only describe as amazing. "The room was alive with warmth and love," Jennifer recalls. "Our friends and family had come to celebrate with us and we were able to treat them to an amazing meal and awesome dance party to show our appreciation."
