A Breathtaking Vintage Wedding On Vancouver Island
Erin and Bryce's Vancouver Island wedding was a romantic, intimate affair with 40 of their closest friends and family members. "I wanted the day to feel like a dinner party at our house, only much more awesome," Erin laughs.
The couple chose Dolphins Resort in Campbell River for their ceremony and reception because of the dreamy location overlooking the water. "The staff and food were incredible," Erin explains. "Seeing the people closest to us, especially our children, in the same place in the most beautiful setting with a dreamy candlelit table was more than I could’ve imagined."
The couple settled on an eclectic theme with country, vintage, art deco and glam details. "For the decorations, we included old books, wooden crates and trunks that I’ve been collecting for years," Erin explains.
Erin says one of her favourite wedding details was her necklace—an heirloom cameo commissioned by her grandfather for her grandmother while he was stationed in Italy serving in WWII. "My grandmother had sweetly gifted it to me at mom’s house a few months before the wedding," Erin recalls. "I have always admired the cameo and was so shocked when she gave it to me."
After their vows, the couple took a helicopter ride to a mountaintop overlooking Sutil Channel, Desolation Sound, Quadra Island and Vancouver Island. "It was a pretty amazing adventure to start us off as husband and wife," Erin smiles.
