A lush sage field outside Kelowna was the ideal setting for a wedding photography project Apryl Stead had been dreaming up for ages. Using muted greens, blues and ivories, Stead's goal was to create a moody ambience for her styled shoot. Stead shot through mist and fog, adding clouds of bright blue smoke to amp up the drama.
The shoot was grounded in beautiful bohemian details, from sage leaves spilling out of a golden gramophone, to a wooden table dotted with metallic vases, to a naked cake covered in handmade lacework. The pièce de résistance was a large banner bearing the definition of "sonder," a word that inspired the shoot, in delicate calligraphy.
