Pauline and Matthew met during their first year at university but it wasn’t until their second year that they finally had their first date. Fast-forward nine years to when Matthew surprised Pauline with an engagement ring. “Matthew managed to fool me by saying that he was going to Toronto for a boys' weekend, and it worked, but that night there was a candle lit outside our apartment door and there was Matt, dressed up in a suit with flowers, candles, wine - the whole deal,” explains Pauline. “Nine years of dating and he still had the ability to surprise and wow me,” says Pauline. The couple planned a beautiful rustic outdoor wedding with burlap table runners, flower box centerpieces and cones filled with flower petals. “Our guests are still telling us how great of a time they had,” says Pauline. “My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much! There was a moment during the dinner where I thought, 'this is perfect'.”
